Welcome! I’m Ariel, and my fiancĂ© is Jordan. Together we are Christenson Farm.

Jordan started farming when he was still in high school. He worked for a couple different farms in the Westby, WI area, started his own herd, and learned everything from cow health, tractor mechanics, and crop rotation. Eventually he went to UW Madison for a short course in grass based dairy. Shortly after graduating, he was deployed in Iraq. After deployment, Jordan came home and bought his own herd and starting milking cows. Eventually in 2017 he built a free stall barn and double 4 milking parlor on his family’s farm.

Me on the other hand, I didn’t grow up on a farm. My grandparents own a century farm in Adams, MN, and I would visit there every summer. My uncle had his beef herd there and I always loved watching the cows and being out in the country in general. I currently work in La Crosse, WI in the finance industry. My goal is to eventually be on the farm full time.

We met in 2019, and I quickly took to the farm life. I love the cows just as much as Jordan does. I’ve learned how to milk them, however I refuse to learn how to turn on the milker pumps. That way Jordan and I milk together! Due to unfortunate circumstances between health and milk prices, Jordan had to stop shipping his milk to Westby Creamery in December 2020 when some of the herd had to be sold. However, we are switching over from milking cows to a beef operation. We are still growing that side of the business. The parlor is still being used, we milk 6-10 cows to feed calves.
